Hello,

We'd like to pass along a press release that may be of interest for your blog. The Church Avenue Business Improvement District is forming a committee to address streetscape issues, and we are looking for community participation. If you're interested in learning more, see this press release. Church Avenue stretches from 98th St. in Brownsville through a myriad of neighborhoods before coming to Kensington. So depending on what direction you're facing, we're either the engine or the caboose.

CB6 DOT meeting - Go in Support of F Express!

We got word from Gary at Brooklyn Streets that there is an upcoming meeting to get out to if you're in support of the F express. (CB6 Transportation Meeting Thursday: Congestion Pricing and 4th Avenue) The CB6 Transportation Committee is meeting this Thursday in Park Slope. Gary is hoping to be there giving each committee member a document on why congestion pricing needs to be balanced with the F/V proposal. It would be great if people who feel passionate about the F express could join Gary at the meeting. Here is the info:

Community Boards... How to use them?

I found Kensington's local community boards on www.NYC.gov the question is... how to use them? I think some garbage cans on Caton and McDonald as well as other larger improvements (new lampposts and benches at the bus stop) would give the area a first step in the right direction but can they help with things like that? I'll write to them and start exploring it but in the meantime if you have any information on how these things work please write to me directly or in the comments section.
